In Loving Memory of Ana Azuchena Villa-Rodriguez
The Oregon State Police and the local community mourn the tragic loss of 31-year-old Ana Azuchena Villa-Rodriguez of Medford, who was killed in a devastating two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in the early hours of Saturday, January 24, 2026.
According to a preliminary investigation by Oregon State Police, Villa-Rodriguez was operating a southbound Nissan Altima near milepost 46 when, for unknown reasons, she attempted to make a U-turn. At that time, her vehicle was struck by a southbound Dodge Ram 2500 driven by 50-year-old Kenneth George Brito of Grants Pass. Tragically, Villa-Rodriguez was pronounced deceased at the scene. Brito reportedly sustained no injuries.
The crash caused significant disruption on Interstate 5, with the southbound lanes impacted for approximately four hours during the on-scene investigation. Oregon State Police were assisted by the Rogue River Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation in managing the scene and ensuring safety for motorists.
Villa-Rodriguez’s passing is a heartbreaking loss for her family, friends, and the Medford community. Known for her vibrant spirit and kind-hearted nature, she is remembered fondly by those who knew her. While the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under review, her loved ones continue to grieve and honor her memory.
