Shawn Humphrey Death, Obituary: It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the Indian Lake Schools community mourns the tragic and unexpected loss of 11-year-old Shawn Humphrey, a sixth-grade student whose passing on Sunday morning has left classmates, educators, and families in deep grief. Shawn and his siblings joined the district at the start of the school year and had quickly become part of the everyday fabric of life at Indian Lake, bringing new friendships, youthful energy, and a bright presence that will not soon be forgotten.

Shawn is the beloved son of Jristian Humphrey and Justice Oyer and the stepson of Bailey Dickerson, all proud graduates of Indian Lake Schools. His passing has brought profound sorrow not only to his family, but also to the many peers, teachers, and staff members who had the privilege of knowing him. As the community struggles to comprehend such a heartbreaking loss, the district has expressed its commitment to supporting students and staff during this difficult period.
